Welcome to the Chaos: A Little Reflection, a Lot of Real Life

I’ve been meaning to start this blog for a while. And, like a few other things on my list, it has been waiting for that magical moment when I have more time and everything feels organized.

So anyway, we’re starting without that.

If we haven’t met yet, I’m Tegan: a life coach, a creative person, and one of the humans behind Minto’s Mind Space. I care about giving people space to be themselves, get curious, and figure out what moving forward looks like for them. I also tend to have several ideas happening at once, usually alongside a half-finished project and something I was supposed to write down.

This blog is a place where you can get to know me, how I approach coaching, and what’s happening behind the scenes at Minto’s Mind Space. There will be personal reflection, practical information, and updates from the ongoing adventure of building a business rooted in creativity, connection, and curiosity.

And probably a few detours. Those seem to be part of the process.

Throughout my coaching training, I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on my own beliefs, patterns, reactions, and assumptions. Some of those reflections have helped things click. Others have left me with more questions, and occasionally the mildly irritating realization that knowing something about yourself doesn’t automatically mean you know what to do with it.

I want to share some of that here.

I’ll be revisiting reflections from my coaching classes and exploring how those lessons show up in everyday life. Things like feeling stuck, navigating change, listening to ourselves, and noticing the stories we keep telling about who we are and what we’re capable of. Some posts will be personal. Others will explain a concept or leave you with a question to think about in your own life.

As I finish my Grief Coaching coursework and final assignment, I also plan to share parts of my grief journal. Grief is part of my own story, and I want to give those reflections the time and care they deserve before bringing them into this space.

My approach to coaching is warm, honest, and practical. You bring your experiences, priorities, and knowledge of your own life. I bring curiosity, questions, and room to explore what’s going on, what matters to you, and what you want to do next. There’s space for uncertainty, humour, uncomfortable realizations, and steps that are small enough to actually take.

You’ll also hear about life at Minto’s Mind Space: the workshops, the creative experiments, the community connections, and the things we’re figuring out as we go. Building this space has given me plenty to reflect on. Apparently, running a business is very generous that way.

My hope is that these posts help you feel connected, not only to me and to this space, but maybe to something in yourself you haven’t had much time to listen to lately. You might find a useful idea, a different perspective, or a question that stays with you.

For now, here’s one I’m asking myself as I finally get this blog started:

What have you been waiting to feel “ready” for, and what would starting actually look like?

Welcome. I’m glad you’re here.

Tegan
